Hard Rock Bet Launches in Ontario Despite Competition
Hard Rock Bet enters Ontario as the 48th licensed iGaming operator, expanding its platform internationally.

Hard Rock Bet, operated by Seminole Hard Rock Casino Hotel Resort in Florida, has officially launched in Ontario, becoming the province’s 48th licensed iGaming operator. This move represents the first international expansion for the Hard Rock Digital platform, which had only been available in the United States until now.
Hard Rock's Canadian Debut
Marlon Goldstein, Executive Managing Director and CEO of Hard Rock Digital, highlighted the significance of this launch. He emphasized the importance of bringing the platform to an international audience outside the United States. "Expanding into Ontario with Hard Rock Bet marks the first time we’ve brought our platform to an audience outside the U.S.," said Goldstein.
Hard Rock had been planning to enter the Ontario market for over a year. In May 2025, an industry insider confirmed that the company had applied to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) for an iGaming license. Now, with its launch, Ontario players can access the premium entertainment experience associated with the Hard Rock brand.
A Growing Market
Ontario’s iGaming market continues to expand. With Hard Rock Bet's entry, the total number of licensed operators in the province is now 48, alongside 82 gaming websites. The initiative aims to enhance local talent, partnerships, and support tailored for Ontario players.
"We’re excited to introduce Ontario players to a premium entertainment experience," Goldstein added.
Hard Rock Bet offers sports betting in 10 US states, including Arizona and Michigan, while its online casino operation is active in Michigan and New Jersey.
Enhanced Gaming and Hospitality
In Ontario, Hard Rock Bet will merge sports betting and an online casino featuring over 3,000 games, from top slots to live dealer content. This expansion is linked with the $350 million investment in Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa, which opened in July 2025. The facility boasts over 150,000 square feet of entertainment, 1,500 slot machines, and 40 table games.
Christine Crump, President of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa, remarked, "The launch of Hard Rock Bet is a natural next step for the Hard Rock brand in Ontario."
Compliance and Accessibility
Hard Rock Bet is available for download on iOS and Android devices and can be accessed via desktop. The platform promises to deliver a seamless experience, extending the Hard Rock spirit into the digital realm. This new venture aligns with the company's strategy to leverage its recognition in the hospitality industry to penetrate and expand within the iGaming sector.
Conclusion
The introduction of Hard Rock Bet in Ontario is a strategic move, marking its first step into international markets. By combining its well-known hospitality and gaming expertise, Hard Rock intends to enhance the digital experience for Canadian players.
