Penn Entertainment's newly opened Hollywood Casino in Aurora, Illinois, has reported an impressive $17.4 million in revenue during its first month of operations. Situated on a 77,000-square-meter site near Interstate 88, the casino offers over 50 live table games and a hotel, marking a departure from its previous floating riverboat facility. According to Jay Snowden, Penn's CEO, the presence of the hotel is significantly boosting VIP patronage and spending.

The introduction of hotel accommodations has been a key factor in Hollywood Casino Aurora's robust performance. Jay Snowden shared, "We are seeing really strong demand from VIP segment customers." The Hollywood Casino, with its $360 million investment, includes over 1,000 slot machines, sports betting facilities, restaurants, a spa, and a 1,115 square-meter events center.

While land-based casino revenues rise, the state's sports betting figures have been declining, showing a 10% year-on-year drop in May. This trend is attributed to top sporting events not meeting bettor expectations.
