Mark Scheinberg sells mega-yacht Synthesis for $152.5M

Mark Scheinberg, founder of PokerStars, has listed his luxury yacht, Synthesis, for $152.5 million. The vessel includes amenities such as a helipad, beauty salon, sauna, beach club, gym, jacuzzi on deck, and an infinity pool. Synthesis is described by Auto Evolution as one of the most spectacular and costly mega-yachts on the market.

Details of Synthesis

Built by renowned Dutch builder Amels, the 242-foot yacht accommodates 14 guests in six cabins, along with a crew of 19. Annual maintenance costs are around $10 million. Scheinberg, 52, received Synthesis in 2021.

Rise in the Poker World

Mark Scheinberg, alongside his father Isai Scheinberg, founded PokerStars in 2001. The company became the largest online poker site in the world and was sold to Amaya Gaming in 2014 for $4.9 billion. It is currently owned by Flutter Entertainment. Scheinberg is also an investor in the real estate and leisure sectors, holding a 50% stake in Centro Canalejas in Madrid and One Hotel in Toronto. His estimated net worth is $5 billion.

Competition in the Yacht World

While it remains unclear if Scheinberg is looking for a new yacht, other gambling magnates have recently acquired larger vessels. James Packer of Crown Resorts owns the "giga-yacht" IJE, one of the largest in the world, featuring a heated pool, cinema, nightclub, and gym. However, the largest yacht owned by a billionaire in the gambling sector belongs to Tilman Fertitta, owner of Landry’s and U.S. ambassador to Italy. His 384-foot Lurssen Boardwalk yacht features two helipads and replaces his previous 252-foot model.

Scheinberg has witnessed how yacht size has become a status symbol among gambling tycoons, but whether he is interested in a larger model remains unknown.
