The Finnish Entrepreneur in the WSOP Main Event Final

Lauri Saaskilahti, a Finnish entrepreneur, is at the final table of the WSOP Main Event, marking a milestone as the first Finn to achieve this feat. He plans to return to Barcelona with the objective of fulfilling a purpose he set at the beginning of the year: "Win the WSOP Main Event." This goal was established after a fortunate trip to California.

The Journey to the WSOP

Last year, during a layover in California, Saaskilahti took advantage of six free hours before his flight back to Europe. He decided to visit the Hustler Casino, where he won almost $20,000 playing PLO $10/20/40. This led him to consider returning to the United States to play in the Main Event during his 40th birthday.

After graduating, he prioritized his career but kept poker as a pastime. This summer, he returned to the Main Event with money in hand.

Even though he has already achieved the dream of many players, he still aspires to fulfill the goal he wrote at the beginning of the year. "I reached the final table, but I still need to work to complete that goal," he asserts.
