SBC Summit Adds Global Payments Compliance Track to 2026 Agenda

This year's SBC Summit will feature a new focus on payment compliance with the 'Global Payments Compliance Track', taking place on Wednesday, September 30. This segment will bring together operators, compliance specialists, payment leaders, legal experts, and technology providers to analyze how companies can strengthen their payment systems, combat threats, and adapt to changing regulatory expectations.

A Holistic Approach to Compliance

Rasmus Sojmark, founder and CEO of SBC, highlighted the importance of payment compliance, stating that "it has become one of the biggest balancing challenges for the industry." According to Sojmark, operators must reinforce fraud prevention and AML threats while providing fast and smooth payment experiences.

"Success is not about choosing between compliance and customer experience; it's about getting both right," explained Sojmark.

The track will address how operators are integrating advancements in AML compliance during the panel 'AML in Motion: Continuous Monitoring in Modern Gaming'. Experts such as Luis Carlos Pérez (AML Compliance Officer at Lottofy), Gintarė Wycherley (Senior Solutions Engineer at SEON), James Boyles (Player Experience Director at Evoke), and Carmelo Mazza (CEO of Betaland/Enjoybet) will participate.

Addressing Challenges in Emerging Markets

The growth of mobile money and alternative payment methods in Africa will be analyzed during the session 'Cross-Border Compliance: Navigating AML in African Markets'. Maruf Lawal (COO of MOKO Afrika) and Adenike Oyebamiji (Legal Compliance in West Africa for the Velex Group) will explore how operators can manage different requirements in various jurisdictions while maintaining smooth payment experiences.

Player Privacy and Compliance

The balance between compliance and player privacy will be central in the session "How Much Information is Too Much?" Discussion will focus on how operators can establish robust processes that satisfy regulators without exceeding data protection requirements. Panelists such as James Myles (Head of Compliance at Dragonbet) and Miguel Godinho (Senior Compliance Advisor at Betclic Group) will be present.

The day will also cover AML challenges in new gaming formats in 'Preparing for AML in Emerging Gaming Formats' and how prediction markets and AI are transforming financial oversight in 'Prediction Markets, AI, and the New Investment Race'.
