European Safe Gambling Week 2026: Announcement of Dates
The European Safe Gambling Week will be held from November 16 to 22, 2026, promoted by EGBA to encourage player protection.

The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) has confirmed that the European Safe Gambling Week 2026 will be held from November 16 to 22, 2026. This annual event aims to promote safe gambling across Europe.
Pan-European Initiative for Safe Gambling
The European Safe Gambling Week is an annual initiative organized by EGBA to raise awareness about responsible gambling practices and strengthen player protection. The campaign brings together stakeholders from across the European gambling sector, sharing tools, resources, and best practices to promote safe and sustainable gambling.
Previous Success and Expectations for 2026
The 2025 event was a resounding success, achieving participation from 221 partners in 24 countries. The social media campaign reached 4.1 million users, a 32% increase from the previous year. Additionally, 23 events were held with over 2,500 attendees. The 2025 edition also introduced these messages during televised football matches and retail points of sale, along with the launch of a dedicated campaign website.
Planning for the 2026 Edition
The 2026 edition will replicate the use of social media campaigns and an events program, along with an updated website to maximize its reach. Maarten Haijer, Secretary General of EGBA, stated:
"Five years ago, this was a small initiative. Today it reaches millions of people across Europe. That growth reflects the commitment of hundreds of organizations to safe and sustainable gambling."
Haijer encourages organizations to participate in the 2026 campaign and contribute innovative practices.
Participation and Collaboration
The European Safe Gambling Week will take place from November 16 to 22, 2026. Both new and previous partners are invited to register to receive future updates on how to get involved. Interested organizations can register to receive more information about participation.
The initiative encompasses EU and EEA countries and runs in parallel with Safe Gambling Week in the UK and Ireland.
