European Safer Gambling Week 2026 Announced for November

The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) has confirmed that the European Safer Gambling Week will be held from 16-22 November 2026. This annual initiative is designed to promote safer gambling habits across the EU and EEA. Participants can expect a series of events, a social media campaign, and more.

2026 Edition Details

The 2026 edition marks the sixth year of this initiative, continuing efforts to advance safer gambling practices across Europe. Last year, 221 partners from 24 countries joined the campaign, reaching 4.1 million users with its messages. This involvement reflects a 32% increase from 2024. Additionally, 23 events gathered over 2,500 attendees.

Social Media Campaign

The 2026 campaign will leverage social media to spread its messages more effectively. In 2025, the campaign reached millions with its safer gambling messages and engaged audiences across different European countries, amplifying the reach through televised football matches and retail outlets.

EGBA's Commitment to Safer Gambling

Maarten Haijer, Secretary General of EGBA, stated, "Five years ago, this was a small initiative. Today it reaches millions of people across Europe. That growth reflects the commitment of hundreds of organisations across Europe to safe and sustainable gambling." EGBA's ongoing efforts highlight their dedication to improving standards within the industry.

Encouraging Participation

EGBA invites both new and returning partners to engage with this year's safer gambling efforts. Organisations across the gambling sector are encouraged to consider participation to further promote responsible play. More information on involvement opportunities is available on the dedicated campaign website.

Expanding Reach Across Europe

European Safer Gambling Week will again cover EU/EEA countries, running parallel to similar initiatives in the UK and Ireland. The initiative's success is a collaborative effort involving various stakeholders committed to promoting player protection and sustainable gambling.
