Reappointment of Two Trustees at Theatres Trust
Annie Hampson and Katie Town continue at Theatres Trust, bringing extensive experience in theater planning and management.
Annie Hampson and Katie Town have been reappointed as trustees on the board of Theatres Trust. Annie Hampson, who previously served as Head of Planning for the City of London, brings four decades of experience in local government roles. She was awarded the OBE in 2018 for her services to urban planning in London. Currently, she chairs the Advisory Committee of the Diocese of London, which encompasses 460 churches. She also advises on development committees and architectural selection panels and is a judge at the International Property Awards.
Katie Town is the Executive Director of the Theatre Royal Wakefield, a Grade II listed theater in West Yorkshire. Since her arrival in 2015, she has led both creative and organizational transformations, including a significant renovation of the theater. Previously, she was the General Manager of the Learning Department at the National Theatre. She started her career as a lawyer but transitioned to the arts, working at the Royal Opera House and other arts organizations. Katie also chairs Arts Catalyst and co-founded the Local Theatre Touring Alliance.
Governance Code and Remuneration
The managers of Theatres Trust do not receive remuneration for their roles. These appointments have followed the Governance Code for Public Appointments, regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments. According to this code, any significant political activity in the past five years must be declared, including holding office, speaking publicly, or making registrable donations. Both Annie Hampson and Katie Town have declared that they have no such activity.
