Super Technologies has officially joined the Board of Directors of the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA), marking a significant step in its commitment to enhancing industry standards within the European online gambling market. This appointment, effective from July 2026, follows Super's membership in the association since October 2024 and highlights its role in shaping a well-regulated market in Europe.

Strengthening the EGBA's Leadership

The inclusion of Super Technologies on the EGBA Board strengthens the association's leadership position. Super is known for being one of Europe's fastest-growing operators in online gaming and betting. Borut Petek, Chief Global Affairs Officer at Super, emphasized the importance of a strong regulatory framework, stating, "Joining the EGBA Board is an important milestone for Super. More importantly, it reflects our belief that a strong and trusted industry can only thrive within a robust and well-functioning regulatory framework."

Petek also noted the potential for Europe to set the global benchmark for a well-regulated gambling market. Achieving this requires cooperation between operators, regulators, and policymakers, focusing on consumer protection, market integrity, and tackling illegal gambling activities.

Vision for a Regulated European Market

Maarten Haijer, Secretary General of the EGBA, expressed enthusiasm for Super's contribution, highlighting their market expertise and commitment. He remarked, "Since joining EGBA, Super has been an active and committed member, and we’re delighted to welcome them to our Board." Haijer underscored the importance of promoting a safe and competitive online gambling environment in Europe — a key objective for the EGBA.

The EGBA, based in Brussels, represents major online gambling operators licensed and regulated within the EU. The association advocates for a well-regulated online gambling market, fostering collaboration with national and EU authorities. Each EGBA member adheres to strict compliance standards and contributes to approximately 30% of Europe’s online gambling gross gaming revenue.

Super Technologies’ Global Reach

Super Technologies, founded in 2008, has evolved into a global technology leader in entertainment and fan-centric experiences. It operates in countries such as Brazil, Belgium, Greece, Poland, Romania, and Serbia, with technology hubs in Spain, the Netherlands, Croatia, Romania, and Brazil.

In 2019, Blackstone invested €175 million in Super, and in 2025, a €1.3 billion refinancing agreement strengthened its financial position, allowing for accelerated expansion. These strategic decisions underscore Super’s commitment to compliance and safety in the gambling industry. The company is also an active member of the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA).

Collaboration and Future Initiatives

Super joining the EGBA signifies a collaborative future where operators work together to improve regulatory standards and encourage responsible gambling. This initiative aligns with EGBA's objectives, demonstrated by their annual European Safer Gambling Week, which promotes safe play across the industry.

By joining forces, Super and the EGBA aim to advance policies that ensure sustainable growth, support consumer protection, and secure the integrity of the European gambling market. This partnership underscores the importance of regulatory frameworks that guide the industry toward a safer and more controlled environment for consumers.
