Three Arrested in Gibraltar Following Drug Investigation
Gibraltar's HM Customs arrests three individuals for suspected cocaine possession and supply, seizing 51 grams.
In Gibraltar, HM Customs have arrested three residents after an operation targeting suspected Class A drug possession and supply. The operation, conducted by the Flexible Anti Smuggling Team (FAST), began on Friday, 7 August 2026, on Devil’s Tower Road. Two males, aged 32 and 39, were observed acting suspiciously at a bus stop near Beach View Terraces.
Officers stopped and searched the individuals, uncovering multiple wrappers suspected to contain cocaine. Additional cash was seized. Both were arrested for possession and intent to supply a Class A drug.
A Coordinated Operation
Later that evening at 6:50 pm, a search warrant was executed at a residence linked to one of the males. Inside, officers found a 34-year-old female, along with more substances suspected to be drugs, cash, weighing scales, and related paraphernalia. A moped at the location also contained a package believed to be cocaine. The woman was arrested on similar charges.
Second Phase: Additional Search
On Saturday, 8 August 2026, at 1:32 am, a further warrant led to a search at a second property connected to the other male suspect. This search resulted in the seizure of more cash. All arrested individuals were taken to New Mole House Police Station for interviews and later released on bail with a surrender date scheduled for 18 January 2027.
Significant Seizure
In total, the operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 51 grams of suspected cocaine. The Collector of Customs, John Payas, commended the team:
"This operation included officers from different sectors of our department. I want to commend all those involved for their vigilance and professionalism."
He emphasized HM Customs' dedication to combatting drug distribution in Gibraltar.
