SBC Summit has announced a significant partnership with BettingStartups aimed at bolstering support for early-stage betting and gaming startups. This collaboration will enhance key areas such as the Startup Hub and the SBC First Pitch competition at the SBC Summit 2026, scheduled to be held from 29 September to 1 October at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa and MEO Arena.

The Role of BettingStartups

BettingStartups, known for its influence in the early-stage gaming sector, will be the official host of the Startup Hub at this year's summit. The hub, strategically positioned between Halls 1 and 2, will provide a dedicated space for founders to exhibit their businesses. This environment facilitates connection with investors, operators, partners, and media representatives, creating opportunities for showcasing innovation and networking.

By leveraging BettingStartups’ extensive network—which includes a media platform, podcast, newsletter, events, and investment arm—the partnership seeks to bring a curated selection of high-quality startups to the event. Attendees can anticipate engaging with innovative companies that are shaping the future of the industry.

Product Innovation Showcase Stage

The collaboration extends to the Product Innovation Showcase Stage, set for 1 October, featuring exclusively startups. This platform allows founders to present emergent technologies and business ideas to a diverse audience of operators, investors, and industry leaders. It culminates in the SBC First Pitch competition.

SBC First Pitch Competition

The First Pitch will be emceed by Jesse Learmonth, Founder of BettingStartups, where five selected startups will present their ventures live. Each presentation involves a three-minute pitch and a three-minute Q&A session with a panel of seasoned investors and industry executives. The winner stands to secure a prize package exceeding €80,000, comprising services and resources to support further development.

Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC, remarked, “Startups crucially bring new technology and ideas to the industry. This partnership will help invigorate our events in Lisbon and provide a platform for startups to engage with key industry figures.”

Significance of the Partnership

Learmonth added, “SBC Summit is an essential venue for founders seeking to grow and build relationships within the global betting and gaming industry. Hosting the Startup Hub and First Pitch reinforces our commitment to facilitating valuable connections for early-stage companies.”

Details on the Startup Hub exhibitors and the five finalists for First Pitch will be announced prior to the Summit. Access to these stages is included with various pass types, with some complimentary passes available for qualified affiliates, regulators, and operators, pending approval.

Further announcements and ticket options are accessible on the news section.
