Choctaw Launches Free Sports Betting App in Oklahoma

Choctaw Casinos & Resorts has launched a new free sports betting application in Oklahoma, hoping to obtain legal permits in the future to operate an online sportsbook. Choctaw Sports allows users to predict sports outcomes without risking real money. The app provides credits to 'bet' on 12 sports, including football, baseball, basketball, and more.

Users receive free credits daily upon logging in, and there are no in-app purchases to obtain additional credits, which sets it apart from many similar platforms.

“Do you love the thrill of sports but want to enjoy it for free? Choctaw Sports allows you to make predictions without spending a dime,” reads the app's description in the App Store.

Tribal Lobbying in Oklahoma

Oklahoma maintains a prohibition on legal sports betting, largely due to Governor Kevin Stitt, who is at odds with the tribes. Although Stitt is a member of the Cherokee Nation, he prefers commercial betting operators should the state expand gambling to include online sports betting.

The Oklahoma Legislature has concluded its session for 2026, and there will be no citizen referendum in November to amend the state constitution to allow sports betting. The Choctaw Nation anticipates a change in 2027.

Features of Choctaw Sports

The app allows users to familiarize themselves with the mechanics of sports betting and could help Choctaw Casinos build a potential customer base if real betting is legalized in the future.

Beyond Sports Betting

In addition to its sports prediction app, Choctaw Casinos & Resorts offers Choctaw Slots, a free social slots app launched in 2022. It will soon launch Bet Choctaw, an online real-money gaming app that will be functional for users present at Choctaw casino properties.

Choctaw utilizes the Kambi sports betting platform, based in Malta, to operate its free app. Choctaw properties are located throughout southeastern Oklahoma, in places like Durant, Grant, and Pocola.
