Group Draw for the CONMEBOL Sub20 Futsal 2026

The group stage of the CONMEBOL Sub20 Futsal 2026 will be drawn on August 14 in Luque, Paraguay. It will be streamed live on YouTube from the CONMEBOL headquarters, where ten national teams from member associations will participate. Venezuela will host this edition, taking place from September 6 to October 4.

Brazilian Dominance in the Tournament

Brazil has been dominant in the history of the tournament with eight titles, while Argentina has won it twice and is the current champion after their victory in 2024. The tournament format will be divided into two phases: Preliminary Phase and Final Phase.

Competition Format

The competition will be held in two phases. The Preliminary Phase will consist of two groups of five teams each, with the top two from each group advancing to the semifinals. The remaining teams will compete for positions 5th to 9th.

Final Phase

• Semifinals: The top two from each group.
• Lower placement matches: The third places will compete for 5th place, the fourth for 7th, and the fifth for 9th.

Participating teams will be from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

Methodology of the Draw

The draw will be conducted through pots assigned by the final ranking of the previous tournament. Venezuela, as the host country, will be the top seed of Group A, while Argentina, the reigning champion, will lead Group B.

Distribution of Pots

• Pot 1: Colombia and Brazil, positioned in A2 and B2.
• Pot 2: Paraguay and Peru, for positions A3 and B3.
• Pot 3: Uruguay and Ecuador, for A4 and B4.
• Pot 4: Bolivia and Chile, for A5 and B5.

The draw will determine the structure of the matches in the group phase, ensuring a competitive path towards the title.

Venezuela and Argentina will lead their initial groups based on their previous performances and, according to the order of the draw, the other teams will complete each group in pursuit of the championship.
